09:36 pm - i'll judo chop your sushi I was up by 8 this morning, ready to study for organic. Ecstatic is an understatement about how I'll feel once I'm done with that class. No more hydrocarbon bonds to terrorize my sleepless nights! ...I heard one kid actually lit his book on fire after his final. I'm talking lighter fluid and all. Hmmm... he may have something goin there...ha.
Once again we all ate sushi for dinner. We've been twice in a 4 days! The 'Sushi Man' even calls us by our first names now. It was Philidelphia rolls for me, California for Soph and a whole buch of other fishies for Danaaa. She's the master of raw fish eating! :D
Tonight, mom and dad are off to a gala tonight benefitting one of the most...if not THE most grand humanitarian alliance...UNICEF. Countless fundraising and an overall night of philanthropy will ensue.
OoO, tonight we're planning on baking a cake. Fluffy, moist vanilla ...topped with rich, creamy chocolate icing and of course...you're occasional brightly colored sprinkles. All accompanied with milk. It does a body good.
Time to preheat the oven... Current Mood: happy Current Music: never too much- luther vandross

01:21 pm - almost summer bound Today’s the last day of classes for the semester. Yay! Now it’s just a matter of tackling finals. I have Accounting and QBA both on Thursday, followed by Microeconomics on Friday and ending with ah yes…my favorite of all...organic chemistry. Which will show it’s ugly lil’ head on Monday. So far I’m on top of things, planning out study schedules for this week’s mega study fest. Hopefully I’ll stick with it!
As far as this summer goes, a week vacation to London was in the works for a family wedding going on in June, but unfortunately only mom and dad will be enjoying the British air. The only thing I’ll be engaged in is British Literature. Yuck. And not to mention Physics. Double yuck. …I guess you gotta do what you gotta do! 2nd Summer soph and I will be making our way back to Baylor where more studying will ensue. I haven’t quite decided on what I’ll be taking…probably History and Heritage. That won’t be too shabby…
I’m looking forward to the new loft. We’ve already begun looking around for neat things to put in it. Ikea and Pier One had some nifty stuff! It’ll definitely have a contemporary flare to it. I think we’re all ready for nice change…
Installation for CHIS is this evening at Slo Pokes. That shall be fun. I bought butterfly pendants for the sponsors…they’re embedded with light blue and purple gems. Very exquisite! I hope they wear them and remember that they will always be the beautiful butterflies of the sisterhood. Speaking of CHIS, our one and only Kellyroo is the new prez for the upcoming fall semester. She’ll do a wonderful job no doubt!
Oh…and formals were this weekend! Yes, plural. CHIS on Friday and ISSA( Indian Student Association) on Saturday. …this meant double the fun in gettin’ all dolled up! I had a head fully of bouncy Shirley Temple curls. It was a welcomed change from the straight hair I’m so used to. (Check out kelly’s journal for pictures)
Hopefully I’ll get my pictures developed and upload them soon.
Ok, time to catch up on a few things! Current Mood: working Current Music: rain- patti griffin

11:05 pm - a rush of blood to the head I just watched the Rockets lose their very close victory against the Lakers by just 2 points! I think Yao Ming was concentrating more on eating his Kung Pao chicken than making his shots. It's ok Yao, you're forgiven ;)
Kelly and I had our meeting with Campus Living and Learning. It's Operation Bunny Drive time. Lots of wonderful ideas were thrown out on the table...some of which will have a profound effect on future bunny drives to come. Imagine a bunny suit. Imagine your friend in a bunny suit. Imagine your friend hopping around in the suit. ....in the sub. enough said.
...Well it's official, tomorrow soph, dana and I become residents of 1911. We're ready to move into a swanky lil' loft with burber carpet. ray is more excited though. He finally gets stairs... which means no more running back and forth and back and forth from dana's room to ours...all the time..just back and forth and back and forth. it's time for him to make like rice and simmer. jk, i love you my feline friend.
ok, the impending doom of my organic test has slowly and slyly snuck it's way into my ever so relaxing week..so I best be off.. Current Mood: loved Current Music: september baby- joseph arthur

09:59 am - good morning thursday So today marks our annual hunt for apartments. Soph and I have already succeeded in setting appointments, and whatnot. Now it's just a matter of narrowing down the list of our 12 possible perspectives to a mere 2 or 3. We're hoping to be finish with this task by March...'hoping' being the operative word :)
On to other joyous things,
tomorrow is the last basketball game of 'my' season. Yesterday night we played Crew, and although we were defeated, our noble attempt to win a victory proved far more mighter than our loss. We've gotten better at communication on the court, rebounds, shots, blocks, defense, 'pushing and shoving', and my personal favorite...'posting up' which is a defining moment in itself. Tip off tonight begins at 8p.m. sharp, so bring out your pom poms and cheer us on!
Bunny drive for CHI's is approaching quickly...Kelly's the mastermind behind it all. So, if you're looking to lend a helping hand to charity, then start collecting those stuffed bunnies! Hop your lil' tail on over to any store of your choice and make the right decision. The children of Waco's orphanges will be utmost delighted for your heartfelt contribution :)
once again, soph and I will be making the semi 'weekly' journey back home to good ole' lake jackson. We've got an uncle coming down this Friday, which means plenty of entertaining to be done and lots of delectable dishes to be eaten...muahaha.
off I go... Current Mood: hungry

10:10 pm - Hey ya Soph, Dana and I just finished watching Average Joe and tomorrow it's on to American Idol followed by a number of other reality shows devoted to the rest of the week. I admit, I never was quite the aficionado, but I seem to have an odd liking for them. I've been pulled into their 'world' and consider myself to be a loyal 'fan.' :)It's rather oxymoronic...we watch t.v to 'escape' our reality, but we are hit only with the opposite...to be drawn into someone else's.
Mom and Dad just got back from California. I kept calling to check up on them...ha, quite funny considering it's usually the opposite!
I'm still trying to find the Nike Shox I've been eyeing since my birthday. I just cannot seem to find size 11 anywhere! Supposedly, they're not in high demand..pshaa! ;) They will be mine, oh yes...they will be mine.
Speaking of my desires, Spring Break is approaching rather quickly...and I'm anticipating every minute of it. Kelly and I are ready to rock n' roll in Las Vegas. The flashy neon lights..not to mention other 'flashy' things...the incredible shows and shopping. The Venetian is where we'll call 'home' for a couple of days. Instead of going to Venice...Venice is coming to us!
I love Italy...and garlic bread. Current Mood: sleepy

10:57 pm - Hues of pink and purple swirled into a milkyway of brillance Happy Day of Birth to my favorite Kelly! I feel your joy in turning the righteous age of 21 and all the joys that it may bring :)
So today was my 2nd b-ball game with ISSA and..CHIS. Yes,I played opposite my sorority. The beautiful CHIS, although sincere in their acceptance that I was proudly going to represent the rich culture of India, were silently meloncholy to know they would not incurr my most masterful basketball skills! Ah well, they still love me :) Next game is on Wednesday, pray for me. pray hard.
On to other things, I'm adjusting to my 12 hour schedule quite comfortably. My first and last class on Tue/Thr is at 8 and so while the rest of the somnolent baylorites awake from their deep slumbers to start their day, I make my way back to apt# 7205 and know that mine has come to be fulfilled with a hard day's work. A silent joy most definitely.
Tonight was SING, all the glitz and glam and I was unable to make it...but I'll be there next semester!
french vanilla coffee, I'm there. Current Mood: pleased

11:51 pm - depth's perception gosh, it's been a long time since i've updated... Well, the past two months of 'summer' have consisted of packing, moving, unloading, and adjusting to the new apt...I finally got to put my 'Starry Night' up again...excellent. Chemistry lab has officially turned soph and I into well..let's just say..you give us anything and we can titrate it, but soph's the real 'titrating temptress':D Me on the other hand..have encountered 'a few' mishaps...in short: broken glass...a lot of broken glass. there's a list goin'. yikes!
The 'mother load' crashed at our place for a few days. It was nice to have her stay here..two words..Good Food. Two more words...Good Food. Next time she comes, she's gonna bring all the spices so I can start cookin' up a storm in the kitchen...*beware* it's gonna be a 'frebreeze frenzy'...if you know what i mean..
On to other news...Kelly is now onto her 2nd tropical island vacation in the past..3 weeks! That kelly, i tell yah... she just likes to hop from one island to another ;)
Okay, what's furry, chases it's tail, pees on the carpet and licks the kitchen floor? ..and no, you can't guess dana, ha. but..she did get a kitty..a new addition to her huge family of her and eric. The furry ball has already grown fond of them and has officially turned the dining room table into his own gymboree..flailing himself from one chair to another and attacking the bottom wood platform. crazy, 'kat'. Unfortunately though..the poor scruff ball has no name..which means,..no identity..no sense of self..it's madness!

12:32 am - forever and a day wow, so this is it. the finality of another semester has made its way...most people would probably reflect on how it changed them as a person, the lessons it taught, the way it opened their eyes more to the world, and yes it did all that for me...but it was much more than that. New friendships were made, old ones were strengthened, points of views were challeneged , convictions were deepened. That is the journey that life takes you on..sometimes its smooth sailing, other times it gets a bit bumpy..but all the while you take in those moments and gain a deeper understanding on the random things that life throws your way. Yeah, this may sound too philisophical...but when you stop and ponder over any moment of the sort...there lies within in it..something of value. And its from these moments, that carry you through life...they are the ones that make your choices, decisions, show you direction, and shines light on your way. It's funny the way this journey we are all on...reveals things to us...opens us to things we don't always feel comfortable with..and challenges our sense of self. It's the way we handle these situations that test our character and reach deep down into the eptiome of what makes us who we are. Congratulations if you made it this far in my 'rambling'...but it's all just things running around inside this head of mine. Okay...now back to reality...
I always knew, without a doubt that this time with Soph would be the most growth-orientated...but i never knew how great the extent of it really was. Incredible is an understatement. Amazing just doesn't cut it. I doubt there is a word out there that does describe exactly how honored, and humbled I am by her. Very very rarely do you find people who's outlook on life blows your mind as they somehow with such drive..balance ever corner of their life. It's hard...we are all human...we all have those things we wish we could change..other we wish we never had...but either way I slice it, this girl ..this happy go lucky person exudes only the best of life. yeah, sorry for gettin' all mushy and sappy, but ever word I say is the truth..in it's entirety.
Like i tell everybody who knows me by now..every person we have in our life..is here for a reason...a reason we may already be aware of, and sometimes a reason we have yet to discover. But one thing is for sure...life without them, would be lacking in some way. To all the lovely gals out there thanks for the laughs and comfort, hugs and jokes...but most importantly, all the late night brownie baking :D (you know who you be)
Okay, I'll start wrapping it up...all in all, when you stop and think about the time that has passed whether it's from the beginning of the semester, or all the way from freshman year...it all seems like a blur, but somehow you know you've gained a different perspective on understandings, outlooks, relationships with people, music, brownies with and without nuts..okay, that's strechin' it but....just random stuff that will remain an eminent part of your voyage in life..(especially about the brownies)
Until then. take care... Current Mood: thankful Current Music: 24- Switchfoot

12:48 pm - my love will laugh with me before the morning comes On your mark.. .get set...
My alarm woke me up at 5 this morning to remind me I had a race to run, but at that point, the last thing on my mind was running...I wanted to hop back inside my warm, cozy comforter...curl up, and fall back into my deep sleep. After 10 minutes of debating...I slowly got out of bed...woke soph up, put on my running pants, a t-shirt, laced up the tennies, and put up the hair in a hat. Once we were dressed and half awake, we made our way to jenn’s and emily's, to pick them up. The stars were still out..and the only thing making any noise were the few cars on the highway.
Then we headed to downtown where there was quite a crowd already building. An arch way of pink ballons, shaped into the breast-cancer awareness symbol welcomed us...as white tents and a pink runway of carpet led us to our registration section. Most of the girls from Chi’s were there! sophia, emily, jenn , kelly and I manned our postitions, waiting for the oncoming flood of runners/supporters to make there way to us... Soph handed out registration packets, emily, jen, kelly and I helped those who still needed to register and the people that needed their ‘bibs'with their running numbers. We all got race for the cure volunteer shirts...and this time they weren’t XXXL :D As the sun started to rise...more and more folks arrived. Breast cancer survivors, mass load of families of those who had a loved one with cancer...children...different organizations...even dogs came out to support!
After 20 minutes of doing registration, we made our way to the starting line of the 5K run where we ran into Daly!. literally ;) A sea of people formed one solid line...I swear it could have gone from here to Timbuktu. Rad :D At exactly 8:45…the sound of a fog horn pierced throughout the crowd and we were off! I was surprised to see the amount of people actually running! We made our way to I-35 near the Robison tower, as onlookers and even some of our Chi’s cheered us on...great encouragement I tell ya! We walked and jogged, walked and jogged some more...making our way down university parks towards the Ferrell center...headed towards the SLC, library, and then North Russell, curving around the seminary...winding back onto university parks...heading back the direction we came...turning left near arby’s ...and the last stretch to the finish line near wing stop.
It was incredible to see the finish line area jammed packed with hundreds of people. yelling and cheering and all the other ‘ings’ Soph began sprint'ing' the last stretch. She took off like lighting...zip zap zoom! I wondered where she disappeared to! So, as I came closer to the end I picked up the pace, adrenaline pumping, heart racing...just an amazing surge of energy...and sprinted until I crossed the finish line...just a hair behind soph! once we were done, emily and jenn followed came in after a few minutes. Later we all went to get water, orange slices and ..snapped a few photos(of course!) to capture moments of our 'marathon 'victory :D
Race for the Cure rocked! Next year, soph’s decided to compete in the timed 5K, I’m so there. :D It brought thousands of people, approximately 6,000, to come out and support one cause, and it was a difference truly to be made, one "step" at a time. 01:53 am - undiluted soul speak wow, the past two weeks feel like a blur...it's crazy. Too many things to do and not enough time to do it all! A business plan to be completed, Kelly's new pup--> Molly'roo', "Day of the Lion" making it's way...Switchfoot making their way ( u bet soph's going to be there), Chi's bunny drive coming to an end..and of course, visions of finals... Hang in there, we're almost summer bound :)
Well, tomorrow...wait,...today is the 'Gateway to India' Culture Show. Soph and I are gonna strut our 'stuff' on the run way for an incredible 1 mintue =D Mom and Dad are coming to support us...and the rest of the Indian clan here at Baylor.
One of the 'Bhangra' dances performed for Chapel on Wednesday, and was received warmly. It makes me optimistic that our generation is slowly breaking down cultural barriers that some (not all) have put up for themselves are 'developing' almost opening their eyes...to the diversity this world encompasses. keep it up ;)
I went over to kelly's place today, played with Molly--> new yorkshire terrier. I tell ya...if i ever did see a pup!
...and this is what the future holds: Monday: Poli Sci Test Tuesday: Business Project Due Wednesday: ISY and Chem Test Thursday: the infamous...'day of the lion' Friday: *fill in the blank* Saturday: Race for the Cure...it's all about the 5K..we're goin' for the gold..come out and support!

01:54 am - and of all the fancy satin and silk...my white cotton feels so good We got back from Chi's retreat this morning..bright and early around 7. Yesterday night was wonderful..much fun =D. Emily, Kelly, Soph, Jenn and I got to Eastland lakes around 6:30. We all had dinner and then it was time to reveal to the pledges who their Big Sis was. The pledges got in a circle and did their CHI image...which eventually ends up with them face down, on the floor, knees bent ..arms stretched out. don't ask...
After all the lights were turned off...Emily, Kelly and I slowly and slyly brought out our gifts and set them in front of our "little's'" who, at this point were probably suffering a major rush of blood to head...then the lights were turned on...the pledges opened their eyes...and lo and behold, sophia...saw me. I was her big sis(still am *wink*)..even though she had no clue, or at least I don’t think she did. Sophia...surprised? I think so. Her facial expression showed it all, a huge look of shock. Greatness. I guess I carried out my secrete, covert operation with success. Thanks to my partner in crime, Kelly! :-)
Gifts were opened...way too many pictures were taken...and other games/activities were played. However, the real fun began when "I have never" started. Kelly explained it in her journal..basically, one person stands in the middle of a circle of girls sitting in chairs. She continues on by saying " I have never...". Now, the people who have done what she has 'never' done..get up and all run to different seats. Long story..short: Some very very interesting things were discovered that made my eyebrows raise..*ahem* jenn and emily. tsk tsk tsk ladies... Kelly, Soph and I concluded that ...we need to get out more. Our lives are too clean...;)
After running around, and complete exhaustion...we sprawled out our sleeping bags into a made-for-eight-bed...and packed ourselves in. Snug as bugs, we were. Of course, my camera-happy enthusiasm kicked in ...Flashes were going off here and there. After the photo shoot we all managed to doze off within an hour…so easy.
Retreat rocked like Pop Rocks… great time.great picture..not so great food, but definitely great company :-D

03:10 am - circumnavigate the globe... Even though it's the early hours of the morning...I have the urge to write. I'm in the living room...with only the pewter side lamp on and the soft hum of the computer to keep me awake, while the rest of the family is tucked away, fast asleep. It's amazing how one can be at such peace with only the simple things surrounding them.
Today, would most defintely be considered relaxing. Mom whipped up a grand breakfast once again...and we sat at the dinning table for two hours...just talking and laughing....and soaking up the moment. It was one of those lounge-around-all-day-in-your-pajamas occasion.
Mom,dad and I headed into Houston...while soph stayed home and practiced her guitar. I know how much she missed not being able to play! kelly might also be heading down to visit =D I get to be 'tour guide' for a few days...hopefully kelly, you can come to lake jackson too! Too bad there is NO lake in 'LAKE' Jackson...or else we could have done something cool. Not to worry though... because the swamps and bayous that we do have tend to draw a lot of interest, especially with Dow Chemical just next door...you never know what lurks in these waters.

10:51 pm - ..you are my sunshine Spring Break has arrived for this girl. After my polisci/ ISY exam on Wed. and a business test this morning, I'm officially on a mission for some much needed double R & R. Not only rest & relaxation, but also... rehabilitation & recuperation from the week's brain drain.
I woke up today around 6:30 a.m., which I don't think I've done since the wee days of highschool, to finish up some extra studying. I forgot how the serenity of the early mornings could be so soothing, especially without the annoying, screeching cawings of the megaphoned Eagle speaker mounted outside the dorm. geez, only baylor...I swear.
After Soph and I got out of the business test, we made our way to the populated, P-land cafeteria and had our favorite pesto pasta...er..note to self: too many "p's" in one sentence. Then, I headed back to the dorm, only to find out that the Baylor Beauty "tipping jars" were set up. I'll just leave it at that. ;)
Happy Birthday to both the beautiful Katies' of apt 14E! I made a birthday pit-stop with Jenn and Soph to bid the girls farewell... KD's trip to Jamaica and KT's trip back home to Spartenburg. Have a safe journey :-)Then, Kelly stopped by to type up her report for class. I'm sorry kelly about your IMAC. Cheer up, doll..it'll get fixed :-) Before heading to "Wing- Stop"... kelly and I made our way to the new Target. =D They had some really incredible things.
lesson learned from dinner: Chicken wings. 20 in all to be exact. This girl was winged-out. When they say..."eat more chickin" resist your temptation and do not succumb to their woeful ways!
Now, I'm in the process of packing, cleaning, doing laundry and things of the sort before sophia and I are homeward bound..
All in all, i'm ready to embrace this Spring Break with open arms.A break most defintely needed! To those travelling...be safe, to those visiting family and friends...enjoy the moments...and a side note to me...NO STUDYING.<--soph's responsible for holding me to it.
Just for Dana: thanks for re-formatting. My computer and I are very happy ;) Current Mood: refreshed Current Music: If loving you is wrong- Al Greene
